Post subject: BEEF STEW WITH DUMPLINGS  PostPosted: Feb 14, 2008 - 07:36 PM


2lbs boneless beef chuck or stew meat cut into 1 cubes
4 cups of water
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp dried minced onion
1 tbsp of minced garlic in the jar (we use spice world brand) or you can use one full clove.
2 small bay leafs
2 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
6 carrots, diced
4-5 med baking potatoes, pared, quartered
1 med. Onion
4 beef bouillon cubes

Brown meat thoroughly on all sides in heavy sauce pan, add all ingredients except carrots, whole onions, potatoes, and dumplings. Cover tightly and cook for 2 1/2hrs
Remove bay leafs.
Peel and cut the potatoes, carrots and onions then add them to the meat, add enough water to cover the contents. If You are not making Dumplings then cook for 30 minutes, if you are making dumplings bring the meat & vegetables to a boil and cook 10 minutes


Mix 2/3 cup of milk with 2 cups of Bisquick. Spoon batter lightly onto bubbling stew, Cook 10 minutes uncovered and then 10 minutes covered. Remove the dumplings from the pan and put onto a plate, after you have dished up your serving then top with dumplings.

Serves A lot, lol. Depending on the bowl or plate size this will easily serve 8-10
