Post subject: Firefox Bad?  PostPosted: Nov 27, 2007 - 12:48 PM

I have to say this is probably one of the few sites I've run into more problems using Firefox than IE! Using phpNuke, Firefox should be able to render the layout without any issues because the system is standard PHP. So, I'm mildly confused why it looks better in IE than Firefox (which is actually a better browser, for those of you worried about things like security and reliability, and aren't too lazy to download another program)?

The main issue I'm having is that the layout for where the newest topics are shown in the center of the front page gets shifted off to the right underneath those boxes, so I end up with a lot of overlapping text and can't click on the links to go right to a thread. I'm not sure how much coding is being done and how much you guys are working with the backend interface created by PN, but it might be something to consider. More and more people are using Firefox, or some other Mozilla based browser, now instead of IE.

Master Sergeant
Hi Shinimegami,

its not a problem of the browser at all, its a html-style problem. There's a standard in the code of websites, but different browser interpret it different...and of course, the IE respective MS made his own "standard". If you try in a traditional way made a website, you need a lot of additional code for best view in ANY browser.
You right with your notice for Raptor-Pack site. For this reason i use the IE too, but only for Raptor-Pack...and i recommend you the same. Smile

The problem is caused by the tabbed blocks that I use ...... Forum and Servers Online.

The rest of the page should work OK.

I got the snippets of code for this from "Somewhere" ....... It is in my list of things to do ....... then I will see if I can make it run with the other browsers .....

I have optimised the site for IE ....... because ....... it is used by the majority.
