Post subject: Map Making and the use of "Critters" Posted: Jun 07, 2006 - 08:12 AM
I have played many maps that, in most players apinions, have too much of an abundance of "Critters".
I have found a better way of having "Critters" in the maps without it becoming totally insane.
Make all "Critters" neutral.
This way the "Critter" will not attack you unless you fire a weapon towards them, and then they will only go to the spot from which you fired.
So if you fire then move, the "Critter" will not follow you.
I have done a test and stood next to a neutral "Critter" and fire in the oposite direction and it did not attack me.
This method also has a flip side to it. If an enemy fires there weapon towards a "Critter", it will attack the bad guy also.
Map makers can still have a few evil psyco "Critters".
The players of the games would like the maps better if the method of using neutral "Critters" would be used.
Just my thoughts on the subject.

Great Idea Thoran
Lets get the maps back to a WAR GAME MAP and not a cheap NINTENDO KILL THE CRITTERS MAP.
