Barracks - Back door intrusions?

Post subject: Back door intrusions?
Ok, so I was messing with my TFD. I was having a problem getting into servers. So i go check for updates. Seemed logical at the time, but then I had to reload my 8 player patch. Since that time i now get into a server for about 30 seconds, then my Norton Security disconnects me from host server. Says something about a back door intrusion was blocked. I am now not sure how I can get this to stop. It is really starting to irritate me. I have tried to change my security settings and security rules to no avail. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. I talked to Kevin briefly about this, and he suggested I clear my cache in TFD. I did this and it still is not helping. I can get into a server for about 30-45 seconds then I get booted, with a little box from Norton telling me about an intrusion attempt. I ran a full scan of system and am not infected with anything. Virus definitions are up to date. Sorry so lengthy, but please help!

This has started to happen to many of us ........... from a couple of days ago.

When you play TFD ........ Norton detects a BackOriface Trojan ...... displays a "Warning" and then stops all connections to that IP for 30 mins.

Subsequently, you get a CI ..... and cant rejoin for 30 mins.

The only solution, at present, is to disable your Firewall while you play TFD.

BackOriface is a very very old Trojan ........ So it might be "Norton" misinterepting the requests (As TFD is very very old aswell). It is only Norton .... that is picking it up (So I believe)

although, It could be something more Sinister .......... But, I dont think so.

The bottom line is ......... If your computer has been scanned, and is clear of virus's, etc ...... then this "Threat" is not a problem ...... Just "Disable" the Norton Firewall ..... while you Play (Not ideal ..... But, still SAFE).

and remember to "Enable" it afterwards.

**** I am actively looking into it, and will let you know ...... when I find more info/solution
